Record and IGI

"Joseph. I have found no unambiguous record of his marriage to Ann. The most likely seemed to me to be that between Joseph Cottrell and Anne Pitt, Wombourn, 9 Nov 1709 (IGI M045971). There are then baptisms of three children in Pattingham (P010651), a village which had several families of Pitts: Sarah, 1 Jan 1710; Joseph, 15 Jul 1711; Jane, 27 Oct 1713. The implication is that Joseph and Anne moved to Tettenhall between the birth of Jane and the birth of Mary. Tettenhall, Pattingham & Wombourn form a roughly equilateral triangle, about five miles apart: there was a great deal of coming and going between Tettenhall and Pattingham." (RAYJ)
